My First Speech (Parliament of Australia)

This competition, run by the Parliament of Australia, is open to all students in years 10 to 12. You are required to imagine that you are a newly elected member of the federal House of Representatives. You will need write and record a video of a 3 minute speech about an issue or issues you are passionate about. As a community representative, it could be about an issue that is important to the people of your electorate or something you would like to communicate to the federal Parliament and to the people of Australia.

The top three speeches all win cash prizes and the student and their family will be flown to Canberra to present their speeches live and undertake a special program at Parliament House.

Entries close in Term 3.
