The Plain English Speaking Award (PESA) is a public speaking competition for students aged 15-18 years. PESA provides an excellent opportunity for students to build self-confidence and extend their skills in oral communication, speech writing and research. The competition encourages students from schools across the state are brought together to speak to their peers on topics they are passionate about.

In Australia each year state and territory committees organise and conduct competitions at school, regional and state levels. State winners then to go the national final. In Victoria, PESA is organised and conducted by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA). The Australia-Britain Society generously sponsor the Award.

The Director of Debating and Public Speaking will select 2 students to represent the College at this competition. Selection will be based on results in prior competitions and evidence of an ongoing commitment to the public speaking program.
