DAV Junior Public Speaking

On the 1st June, a group of year 7s and 8s went to Mentone Girls Grammar to compete in the regional heats of the DAV Junior Public Speaking Award. These students were tasked with presenting a prepared speech from a list of three topics and then completing two impromptu speeches. In what was many of the students’ first time doing a public speaking competition, they excelled in presenting a vast range of interesting topics.

At the end of the day Blake Schmidt was awarded the overall top prize with Claire Li coming in third overall. Well done to all the students involved in what is a challenging and difficult task.
