Australian Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championship (AIDPSC)  

St Leonard’s College proudly hosted the online Australian Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championship (AIDPSC) and Speakfest, an event held on 19-21 September. Our Senior AIDPSC Team included Ana, Callum and Lola. Ana was awarded Overall Champion of the event, making it through to the final of all four individual sections. In these Finals, Ana was the overall champion for Persuasive Speaking and Impromptu Speaking and Runner-Up for Debating and Interpretative Reading. Callum was awarded 4th Overall and 2nd place in the Persuasive Speaking final. Lola was awarded 5th Overall and 3rd place in the Persuasive Speaking final. These exceptional results have helped rank each of the three students within the Top 10 Overall and secured their place to compete at the World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships (WIDPSC) held in South Africa next year.

Additionally, our talented student, Alicia, was awarded 2nd place in the Speakfest – Persuasive Speaking section and 13th Overall.
