DAV Debating Finalists

St Leonard’s main debating event for students between years 9-12, the DAV competition concluded its preliminary rounds at the end of Term 2. St Leonard’s College has, as always, produced huge success over the course of the year in what was the first full in-person debating season since the pandemic. Impressively St Leonard’s was the only school out of all other schools enrolled in the Brighton region to make the final series. Five of our teams remained undefeated throughout the preliminary rounds and therefore topped their respective ladders. This makes them eligible for the final series which will begin in late August.

Congratulations must extend to all of St Leonard’s debating contingent who all won more debates than they lost throughout the season. St Leonard’s had, by far the largest contingent in the Brighton region with 12 teams who all showed their wit, communication and skill across a range of challenging and insightful topics.

Also a big thank you to all the staff who helped out this year and coached the students including Bianca Crawford, Daniel Charles, Adam Quayle, Juliette Capomolla and Emerson Hurley

The following teams will be progressing to the finals.
