This musical has been on the HTC radar since it opened on Broadway.

It then has been very successful in schools across North America.

I went and saw the Australian premiere in Launceston two weeks before our Drama Soiree and after seeing the show I then went back and saw the final performance. That production was amazing and really cemented for me that ‘Once Upon a One More Time’ was the perfect show for STL in 2026 – especially since we had just done the classic ‘Cinderella’.

The creative team in Launceston wrote this in their program and it really is so true of this amazing show~

Once Upon a One More Time is not just a musical—it’s a cultural moment. A glittering, high-energy celebration of pop music and fairy tales, yes, but also a sharp, subversive, and deeply empowering story about what happens when we begin to question the narratives we’ve inherited.

At its heart, this show is about voice. About the stories we’re told, the roles we’re expected to play, and the courage it takes to rewrite the script. It’s about women, princesses, no less, who begin to ask: What if there’s more to life than happily ever after? What if we want something different? What if we want something more?

It invites us to laugh, to dance, to sing, and to think. It reminds us that the arts are not just entertainment, they are a mirror, a megaphone, and a map.”

While 13 fairy princesses are in the show it really centers on Cinderella and in the final scene of Act 2 she does not marry the Prince and all the characters (males included) decide to write their own fairy tales.

Imagine a feminist take on the classic fairy tale princess story of ‘happy ever after’ and chuck in an electrifying pop score powered by the hits of Britney Spears and more dancing than ‘Chicago’ and you will get the ‘vibe’ of the show and our production.

The tag line for the show is “Well-behaved Princesses rarely make history!“

And history we will make!!!!!

We want our audiences to be

  • astounded by the talent of our cast
  • singing the songs for days/weeks after the performance
  • amazed by the precision and authenticity in the dance moves
  • blown away by the costume design
  • mesmerized and awe struck by the lighting and production design
  • up and dancing in their seats during the megamix at the end – after bows – just like they were for ‘Mama Mia’ in 2021

We are so excited for auditions.
