The Critique

Preparation:

Write a statement of intent that: 

  • Outlines the focus of what you are doing and why you are doing it. 
  • Explains what you have done to develop the body of work.

Critique 

  • Present your statement and body of work to the class. 
  • Students can ask questions of the audience. 
  • Students/teachers present can write notes before the explanation and discussion begins. 
  • Seek feedback from the class and teacher/s on how to refine, resolve and present finals. 

After critique 

  • Critically evaluate the feedback. 
  • Document the process of refining, resolving and presenting the finished work.
