CUE Community Service Preference Form 2025

Introduction to the Community Service Domain

The first stage of your Community placement is deciding which sector you would like to undertake your Community placement in. The options are:

  • Aged Care
  • Disability
  • Early Learning
  • Primary School

Your Mentors will direct you to the CUE Community Service Preference Form 2025 to complete your preferences.

Planning for your Community Placement Days Out

If a student will be absent on a Community placement day, it is important to contact the College absentee line on 9909 9599, and the community organisation by 8:00am to advise.

Should I bring my own food and beverages?
Students should bring morning tea and lunch. This is particularly important for the first occasion until they find out what is specifically required or available at their placement.

Community Service Learning Resources

  • In preparation for each community day out students will undertake a number of tasks in their portfolio’s. Tasks include; researching their organisation and funding and outlining comparison between the care of our elderly citizens in Melbourne to around the world.
  • Students are also required to complete a final reflection after completing four community service days – This reflection should be more than a description of the day, rather their thoughts, and perceptions, what surprised and challenged them. Have your ideas about community service changed?

Students are required to write a minimum of half a page of reflection on their days volunteering within the community.

What have you learnt about yourself and the benefits of helping others in your community.’
