Australia – Day 1: Goodbye Melbourne, hello Darwin!
Today was an early start for the Australia group but we were excited. Everyone was at the front of the school and was ready to go at 5:30AM… With all our bags packed and smiles on our faces we were off to catch the plane!
Even though it has only been one day, we are all becoming such good friends. We first had breakfast together at the airport and then we braced ourselves for the four and a half hour flight to Darwin. Some of us slept, some people chatted, and some listened to music, but we were all very excited by the time we landed.
It was exciting to land in Darwin and even more exciting to be away from the cold Melbourne weather and into the warm Northern Territory weather. After we checked in at the Adina Vibe Hotel Waterfront, we all had to overcome the humidity by walking to Stokes Hill Wharf. However once we got to the Wharf, everyone was awake, forgot about the humidity and was cheery again. The view from Stokes Hill Wharf was breathtaking and we all knew lunch on the Wharf would be even more delicious. We know for a fact that we enjoyed the food. Once we were back at the hotel, we all got changed into our bathers and cooled off in the wave pool. It was a lot of fun and a great way to bond with our peers even more.
So far this trip has been a lot of fun for everyone and we cant wait to fly over to South Goulburn Island tomorrow. We are about to head off to dinner for some Vietnamese food at ‘CHOW’.
We are having so much fun but we do miss you all.
P.S Stay tuned for the next blog… once we get reception!
Love,
Abbey and Neal on behalf of the Australia Group 🇦🇺❤️
