Cocurricular Music Program – Ensembles

The St Leonard’s College cocurricular music program exists to enrich the musical experience of all members of the community whether by enhancing and enriching the learning experience of music students or by providing the musical accompaniment to significant events such as fairs, church services, ANZAC services, Speech Nights, festivals or tours. All rehearsals for cocurricular groups take place outside of normal curriculum times either before school, lunchtime, after school or on weekends and holidays.

Music ensembles which have an audition or selection process include:

Bands

Symphonic Wind Ensemble (years 10 to 12) – auditions open to advanced players of woodwind and brass in Years 7 and 8

Choirs

Jazz Choir (years 9 to 12)
Senior Vocal Ensemble (years 10 to 12)

Jazz Program

Big Band 3 (years 6 to 10)

Orchestras

Chamber Music Groups (years 5 to 12)
Chamber Strings (years 9 to 12)
SLSO (Symphony Orchestra) (years 7 to 12) – auditions open to advanced string players in Years 7 and 8
