To commence Bronze you must be in Year 9 or be 14 years old

There are 4 areas to the Bronze Award

  • Service
  • Skill
  • Physical Recreation
  • Adventurous Journey

The Service, Skill and Physical Recreation components require students to undertake activities for a commitment of 3 months, either as;

  • 1 hour of activity every seven days or;
  • 2 hours of activity every fourteen days or;
  • 4 hours of activity every 28 days
  • Totalling 13 hours

Major Section – students must select one component (service, skill or physical recreation) to complete an additional 3 months. Totalling 26 hours (6 months) in one component

Adventurous Journey:

  • practice journey: 2 days /1 night
  • qualifying journey2 days/1 night

If you choose to make a single trip be both your Practice an Qualifying journeys, you need to make sure that there is a night’s-worth of ‘down time’ between the two phases.
