Choral Auditions for 2025/26

  • Participation in a core ensemble is compulsory for everyone in an auditioned choir.

Vocal Ensembles

  • Auditioned vocal ensembles are available for students from Year 6 – 12 (current Year 5-11 students)
  • These ensembles will sing a mix of repertoire, from including some contemporary, jazz, pop, musical theatre, and classical.  
  • Term 4 rehearsals: Wednesday before school (7.20am – 8.20am) for Resonance (Year 6-8) and Harmonix (Year 9-12), Friday after school (3.45pm – 5pm) for Senior Vocal Ensemble (Year 10-12), Monday before school (7.20am – 8.20am) for Jazz Vocal Group

Jazz Vocal Group

The Jazz Vocal Group is a small auditioned ensemble for singers who are interested in singing jazz harmonies and extending their improvisation skills. There will be a focus on one-person-per-part singing. 
 
The Jazz Vocal Group is open to students in Year 9 – 12 (2025).
 

Audition Requirements 

Auditions for all groups will be held in Term 3, Week 7 at the following times:

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday lunchtimes

Tuesday after school

Sign up sheets (5 minute slots) will be on the Singing Noticeboard upstairs in the Music School.  You’ll need to sing approximately 1 minute of a song of your choice, unaccompanied.  You will then sing one octave of a Major Scale.  After that, you will be required to sing the scale in canon with a teacher.

You can audition for the Vocal Ensembles AND the Jazz Vocal group in the same time slot.
