Warwick has been teaching both in schools and privately since 1975. Upon graduating from the University of Melbourne, he commenced his teaching career at Mount Scopus College. He has also taught at Mentone Boys Grammar and Mount Waverley Secondary College. Warwick commenced teaching at St.Leonards College and Camberwell Girls Grammar in 1988 and in 1995 he commenced teaching at Wesley College, Glen Waverley. At present, he still teaches at these three schools as well as teaching a small number of students out of school hours.

Away from teaching, since 1999, Warwick has held the position of Organist, Choir Director and Director of Music at All Souls Anglican Church, Sandringham.
