Big Band is the most senior of the big bands in the jazz program at St Leonard’s College. It caters for saxophone, trumpet, trombone and rhythm section players from years 7-12. There are auditions for all positions in this ensemble. This ensemble has a busy performance schedule across the entire year including performances at the Big Band Sunsets Festival, the Mount Gambier National Stage Band Championships and various other events in the school calendar. In 2021 and 2022 this ensemble won both the state and national championships. As a SPECIALIST ENSEMBLE, all members of this ensemble must also be a member of a core ensemble.

The Big Band rehearses every TUESDAY MORNING from 7.10am – 8.20am and every FRIDAY MORNING from 7.10am – 8.20am in the Leonardian Centre
