Clancye Milne is an improvising contemporary jazz singer. She completed her Bachelor of Music and Honours Degree of jazz vocalist at the Sir Zelman School of Music, Monash University. Here, she performed with the Gerald Clayton Trio, Tar Baby, Vince Jones, Alison Wedding, Chris McNulty at events such as the Melbourne International Jazz Festival and the Melbourne Festival. In 2013, Clancye was also acknowledged with the Monash University Jazz Prize for Best Vocalist and was selected to perform in a workshop with Golden Globe winner Amanda McBroom and Michelle Brouman for the American Songbook Festival in the Elisabeth Murdoch Hall. She studied under recognized Melbourne vocalists Gian Slater and Michelle Nicole. In December 2015, Clancye also studied with Jo Lawry and Sara Serpa during her time in New York. Clancye has also completed Level 1 and 2 in the Estille Vocal Method course which gave her extensive insight into vocal health, anatomy and technique.
Career highlights include performing at the opening night of the 2016 Stonnington Jazz Festival alongside Josh Kyle, Wilma Redding and Gian Slater with chamber orchestra and improvising rhythm section and performing her original music at Wangaratta Jazz festival with her Quintet. She is part of a number of ensembles such as Paper Flowers, The Clancye Milne Octet and is also a member of Gian Slater’s award winning vocal group Invenio.
