Every year the participation and leadership of a small number of senior students will be recognised by them being awarded Music Honours. These students will have demonstrated their leadership by fully participating in a core ensemble throughout their year 12.

To be nominated for Music Honours students will:

  • Be enrolled in year 12 at St Leonard’s College
  • Attend a minimum of 90% of one (or more) core ensemble rehearsals
  • Participate in all performances undertaken by that group
  • Participate in the core ensemble at the January Music Camp
  • Demonstrate their leadership by always being a positive role model to all other music students
  • Be willing to assist core ensemble staff as required
  • Promote and foster the joy of making music with others amongst all music students

The music honours group will be recognised in the following ways:

  • Announcement of the award at the annual music festival in June
  • Presentation of a badge at the annual music festival
  • Names of the Music Honours group will be included in the annual music report in the Leonardian

Music Honours will only be awarded to students undertaking year 12.

*There is no circumstance in which Music Honours can be awarded to a student who does not demonstrate exemplary attendance, attitude and participation in a core ensemble.
