Jazz Program Auditions

All students wishing to be placed in any of the big bands at St Leonard’s College will need to prepare an audition. Below are links to the audition material.

For the audition, all students (drum/tuned percussion specific information below) will need to choose one of the excerpts best suited to their playing. Please listen to the linked youtube recordings as relevant. Students will also need to bring a piece of their own choice to perform for the audition (approx. 30 second section). 

Drum students will need to prepare the ‘Grooves’ listed on the audition sheet with metronome, along with a short piece of their own choice. 

Tuned percussion students only need to bring a piece of their own choice for the audition.
