Assessment

After looking at different examples of slam poetry it is time to work individually or in a small group to write and perform your own poem!

You will write and perform your own poem.
You will work individually or in a small group, as approved by your teacher.
Your performance should be between 1 minute 30 seconds and 2 minutes 30 seconds.
You will need to brainstorm ideas for your poem.
If working as a group, you will need to plan your poem as a group.
Remember that your poem needs to communicate a message.
Working as a small group can be both challenging and rewarding! If working in a group all members of the group need to be working as a team to produce the best possible poem.
Consider structure, pattern, rhythm, rhyme, language choices and imagery.
Your Poem is being performed. After your poem is written, you will need to rehearse.
You may not use costume, props, visuals and/or music to enhance your performance.
