In year 10 you are required to complete 30 minutes homework for every class studied that day. Sometimes you can finish prescribed homework early and still have a reasonable length of time left over. You are supposed to REVISE with the remainder of this time. But what does that mean? Here are some ideas of how you can use this time productively.

1. Read (start reading your set text a second or third time).

2. Wider reading (ask your teacher to recommend another book that would complement your study).

3. Build a vocabulary list in the back of your book of words you want to use in your next essay.

4. Read the paper and watch the news. English is all about ideas and the better informed you are about the world the more you can contribute to class discussion.

5. Read the background information to the set text on the STL Link.
