This Outdoor Education Program is an integral part of the school curriculum for students’ personal development. During this trip students will be exposed to new challenges such as white-water rafting, bike touring and the Camp Ibis adventure challenge, which will build up on outdoor experiences and knowledge gained from previous trips.

Whilst on camp students will spend two nights at Camp Ibis where they will participate in a full day Adventure Race involving a series of team work and initiative activities. They will also participate in a community project, which could be working on a veggie garden, bush regeneration project, or track maintenance around the camp.

We also include a tour of a local farm, the Picnic Point Orchard, to learn about sustainable farming and the challenges facing local farmers.

Students will then journey down the Mitchell River in white-water rafts, camping two nights in the National Park on the banks of the river, cooking as a group on the campfire.

From here, students will hop on Mountain Bikes and ride a section of the East Gippsland Rail Trail from just outside the town of Nicholson to Lakes Entrance over two days, including riding the beautiful Gippsland Lakes Discovery Trail. .

We hope you are excited for what is going to be an awesome journey with your class!
