Building Resilience Presentation by Nathan Burke

Nathan Burke; schools, sports and leadership consultant was our guest presenter at the Building Resilience seminar on Tuesday 22 May 2018.

In Nathan’s 17 year AFL career he never took Mark of the Year, kicked Goal of the Year or was lauded for his sublime skills. Yet he managed to captain St Kilda and Victoria, be named All Australian 4 times, win 3 Best and Fairest and be selected in the St Kilda Team of the Century. In short, he knows how to turn potential into reality. Nathan believes “attitude is everything” and that there are ways parents and young people can develop the resilience which is so vital to leading healthy, happy and fulfilling lives.

Pornography and its Impact on Healthy Relationships

Healthy Relationships in an Era of Sexually Explicit Images

Current research indicates that up to 90% of boys and 60% of girls will view sexually explicit material online before the age of 15, either deliberately or accidentally.   Author of It’s Time We Talked, Maree Crabbe, provided information at a recent parent seminar that demystified the world of explicit online material, and helped parents understand the impact of this phenomenon and their role in raising young people for healthy relationships in the digital age.
