St Leonard’s College believes that education is enhanced by a genuine partnership between students, parents and teachers. We are also committed to helping young people learn to manage their own lives and develop the skills and attitudes which will help them achieve their potential at school and beyond.

The College has developed a framework, known as Towards A Self-Managing Student which makes this explicit. It is based on the changing capabilities of young people over time and an increasing expectation for their independence and responsibility for their own lives. On this page you will find a series of Towards A Self-Managing Student publications which define the roles of students, parents and teachers from years 3-4 until years 11-12.

We encourage you to familiarise yourself with the relevant Towards A Self-Managing Student document for your child. Any issues arising can be discussed with your child and their teachers.
