However, pick up on Friday 13 April is from Melbourne Airport as per the itinerary.

COMMEMORATIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCE TOUR TO ENGLAND AND THE WESTERN FRONT – APRIL 2018

Suitable for students who in 2018 will be in year 8 -12 and who are members of SLSO, Philharmonic or choirs. (Younger students may apply to be considered for this tour)

Anzac Day 2018 (25th April 2018 ) marks the exact date of the 100 year anniversary of the Battle of Villers-Bretonneux which took place on 25th April, 1918 on Anzac Day, and this is also the date of the third anniversary of the landing at Anzac Cove in Gallipoli.

This is an amazing opportunity for all interested music students to join a once-in-a –lifetime performance tour to London and the Western Front, including attendance at the Anzac Day Dawn Service in Villers-Bretonneux (tbc). Other highlights will include:

 

  • Performance in Southwark Cathedral, London
  • Performance in Bath Abbey
  • West End Theatre Show
  • Participation in ‘The Last Post’ ceremony at Menin Gate in Ypres
  • Participation in ‘La Flamme’ ceremony beneath the Arc de Triomphe in Paris
  • Performance in La Madeleine Church in Paris
  • Commemorative performances in the villages of the Somme and Flanders

Also included will be many of the cultural highlights of London and Paris, including world-class museums, the Tower of London, The London Eye, The Eiffel Tower and Disneyland Paris.
